

She was born on May 27, 1940, in Peoria to John V. and Dorothy A. (Stalter) Traicoff. She married Alan F. Jass in Peoria on November 29, 1959. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2003.
Also preceding her in death are her brothers, Thomas J. Traicoff, and Donald A. Traicoff; sister-in-law, Roberta D. Traicoff; sister, Allene M. Gundersen; brother-in-law, Lynn E. Gundersen; and her parents.
Booma is survived by her brother, George William Traicoff of San Ramone, CA; her children, Juli Ann Ellis (Steven) of Springfield, IL, and Paul Alan Jass (Judith) of Franklin, WI; her grandchildren, David M. Ellis (Noel) of Braidwood, IL, Mary M. Ellis of Dresden, Germany, Theodore L. Jass of Raleigh, NC, and Johanna C. Bailey (Ryan) of Eau Claire, WI; her great-grandchildren, Logan M. Ellis of Braidwood, IL, Adaline J. Bailey of Eau Claire, WI, and Natalie M. Bailey of Eau Claire WI; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews.
Booma was a lifelong resident of the Peoria area. She graduated from Richwoods High School in 1958, and was elected as their first prom queen. She worked at the Bradley University bookstore for several years before her retirement in 2008. Booma was heavily involved in her community, Christ Lutheran Church, and their grade school. She was a member of the Lutheran women's groups and a youth counselor at her church for many years. Booma was a social butterfly. She was known for her kindness, generosity, and selflessness. She always thought of others before herself. She will be missed by so many.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Christ Lutheran Church in Peoria, at 11am, with a visitation to start two hours prior at 9am. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery.
