He was born April 1, 1944 in Peoria to William F. and Frances (Hofmann) Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his father, and one brother William Johnson.
Survivors include his mother of Peoria, longtime girlfriend, Linda Cline of Bartonville, his best friend Teddy Bear, and several cousins.
Richard was a Police Officer for the City of Peoria for 33 years retiring in 2000. He was veteran of the National Guard. He was a Key Card member of the Bartonville VFW Post 3883, and the original founder and member of the Blue Knights motorcycle club- Illinois Chapter One.
Funeral services will be Saturday Dec. 31, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
