Richard D Wyss

He was born April 16, 1948 in Peoria, IL to Walter “Wally” and Marie (Pye) Wyss. He married Judith L. Johnston on April 18, 1970 in Glasford. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Surviving are his wife, Judy of Glasford, three children, Kim Wyss Pitzer of Creve Coeur, Troy D. Wyss of Glasford and Traci L Wyss Coats of Glasford. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Britt (Amber) Markum of Peoria, Baillie Larson of Lowpoint, Kayla Coats of Glasford, Zachary Coats of Glasford and Madalyn Wyss of Lowpoint, one brother, Robert D. (Sandra) Wyss of East Peoria, and two half-brothers, Eddie Wyss, Walter B Wyss both of Wisconsin and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard worked for Hiram Walker for several years, then as a Plasterer and last as a laborer with Clifford Kaufmann & sons and was a member of the laborer’s union local 165. He was also a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Glasford and was an avid sports fan.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1:00 pm at the funeral chapel. The Rev. John Schurter will officiate.
