Robert "Bob" Dean Gailliaert Sr.

Robert Dean "Bob" Gailliaert, Sr., 78, of Mapleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born on January 2, 1947, a son of Robert Joseph and Virginia Lee (Hayes) Gailliaert. Bob married Leiane Toal. He later married Gloria J. Eberle on September 23, 1997 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives.

He is also survived by his son, Robert Dean (Tiffany) Gailliaert, Jr. of Bartonville; two granddaughters, Isabella and Violet Gailliaert also of Bartonville; one sister, Barbara Lohman of Bartonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Beverly Goodson and Diane Monroe.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He last worked for AT&T retiring in management after 33 years in 2001.

Bob was a member of the Limestone American Legion Post 979 and the Bartonville VFW Post 3883.

Bob was a beloved husband, devoted father and cherished grandfather. Throughout his life he was known for his unwavering love and dedication to his family. He was a man who worked tirelessly to provide for those he loved and always went above and beyond to ensure their happiness and well-being. His generous spirit touched the lives of many, as he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Bob will be remembered not only for his hard work and his commitment to his family, but also his love for fast cars and the Philadelphia Phillies. He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and generosity that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who has the privilege of knowing him.

Bob's funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel with full military honors. His visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am also on Monday at the funeral chapel. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tunnels to Towers or a charity of your choice.
