

Rosemarie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Daniel J. Hordesky, by their son, Jeffrey J. and Daughter in Law, Vicki Hordesky of Winter Garden FL., son, Scott M. and Daughter in Law Beth Hordesky of Brookfield, WI., beloved grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony, Anna, Ivy, and Joseph Hordesky. In addition, Rosemarie is survived by sisters Frances Dietrich(Steve) Columbia, IL, Carol Rodgers(Mark) Austin, TX, Mary Curran(Chas),St Louis, MO, and Susan Stuppy (Ron) Bloomsdale, MO, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia Fischer.
Rosemarie was born on February 2, 1947, in St. Louis, MO to William and Mary Fischer. She graduated from St. Paul High School in Highland, IL. Further she graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors and Masters in education. After marrying Dan in Highland, IL on June 8,1968 they moved to Eureka, IL where Rose began her career in education. After 32 years as an Elementary Teacher, Rose retired in 2004 from Illini Bluffs School District in Glasford, IL.
Rose was a tireless worker, who was always available to help others. She was firmly devoted to her marriage and was a multitalented wife and devoted mother. She excelled in weaving and quilting. She did calligraphy and stained glass, also. She was an outstanding partner in Dan’s State Farm Insurance Agency in Bartonville, IL and devoted as much love and affection as possible to their children and grandchildren. Rose never hesitated to tell them how much she loved them. She was often heard to say that she and Dan were blessed with two great sons who married two great wives and mothers.
Rose was a member of Timberlake Club of Peoria, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, and various Library and book clubs. She was a devoted member of St Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bartonville, IL. She was a very active worker on the Church’s Tony’s Garage Sale and co-chaired the event for many years. In addition, She and Dan chaired many of the church fund raising opportunities.
A visitation will be held at St Anthony’s Catholic Church at 2525 Skyway Ave. in Bartonville, IL from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Her funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 am June 22 with an hour prior visitation at St Anthony’s with a funeral luncheon to follow in the Parish Center. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Rose’s honor to St Anthony Catholic Church Capital Improvement Fund. Rose’s last few months were occupied with many caregivers skilled in the treatment of Pulmonary Hypertension, Scleroderma and Heart disease. The family will be eternally grateful to the nursing staff and the many talented, compassionate doctors at Northwestern Medicine, Chicago, IL. We especially which to thank Dr. M. Kabatay-Lee Ho of Carle Health, Pekin, IL, Dr. Barry Clemson and RN Jamie Murphy of OSF Peoria, IL and Dr Ruben Mylvaganam and Dr. Carrie Richardson of Northwestern Medicine, Chicago, IL for their efforts, care, and devotion to Rose’s wellbeing.
