Sandra Kay Mahrt

Sandra Kay “Sandy” Mahrt, 75, of Bartonville, Illinois, died Thursday evening at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 2, 1939 in Peoria, Illinois. She was the daughter of Larry and Alta (Woosley) Kuhel. She married Howard Peter “Pete” Mahrt on September 22, 1956 in Ft. Campbell, Tennessee. He survives.

She is also survived by three children, Kathy (Alan) Hankins of Pekin, Illinois, Rick(Laurie Brown) Mahrt of Bartonville, Illinois and Bryon (Cathy) Mahrt of Peoria, Illinois. She has 5 grandchildren, Marcia Patlan, Jason Hankins, Melonie Young, Abby Mahrt and Stephanie Mahrt and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one granddaughter, Michelle Mahrt, and two brothers, Larry and Roger Kuhel.

Sandy loved to travel and spend time with her family. The family would like to give special thanks to Brenda and Dawn who cared for her lately.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family graveside services will be held in the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois at a later date. Memorials may be made to Unity Point\ Methodist Hospice. You may create an online condolence at www.davison-fultonbartonvillechapel.com.
