

Wilbur H. Busker, 95, of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Bartonville, Illinois died Saturday evening, January 11, 2014 at Heddington Oaks in West Peoria. He was born on November 11, 1918 in Peoria, Illinois. He was the son of Herman and Pattie (Lauterbach ) Busker. He married Mildred M. “Millie” Bruninga on November 20, 1948 in Bartonville, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 2, 2013 in Peoria, Illinois. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Talena Busker, Genevieve Swords and Edna Busker, and one brother, Herman Busker.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheri (Michael) Garman of Bartonville, Illinois, and Patti (Reggie) Weller of East Peoria, Illinois. Wilbur has five grandchildren, Stacy (Chris) Tellor of Germantown Hills, Illinois, Scott (Sarah) Garman of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Karie Weller of San Diego, California, Lisa (Jeremy) Cook of Morton, Illinois and Jeremy Weller of East Peoria, Illinois. He has seven great grandchildren, Hannah and Ryan Tellor, Alayna, Lucas and Logan Garman, Reid and Alexis Cook. He is also survived by one niece, Verla (Don) Scott of Bartonville, Illinois.
Wilbur worked at L. R. Nelson Corporation in many roles as the factory manager and design engineer working 45 years and retiring in 1981, but did part time work for several years after retirement at Nelson’s. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Bartonville and served on the church council, Trust Fund Committee and was a member of the Brotherhood. He also for many years assisted in maintenance and special projects around the church. Wilbur was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was a WWII Air Force veteran and a member of the Bartonville American Legion Post 979. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Bartonville, Illinois. The Rev. Dr. Philip Lund will officiate. A visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Bartonville, Illinois. The Davison Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Bethel Lutheran Church Trust Fund.
