

He was born November 21, 1930, in Mapleton, IL to James C. and Rosina Trendle Boswell. He married Evelyn R. Dawson on January 12, 1954 in Greensboro, NC. She survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Jeanne Boswell of Bartonville; one son, David (Karen) Boswell of Westphalia, MI; three grandchildren, William Boswell, Daniel (Rachael Pratley) Boswell, and Tamara Boswell; one great grandson, Jacob Boswell; one sister, Phyllis (Leroy) Mace of Pekin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers.
He was employed as an Instrument Technician for Ameren CILCO retiring in 1990 after 40 years. He was a proud U.S. Marine veteran.
He was a member of Bartonville Christian Church where he volunteered in the Church Food Pantry. He was also a member of the Ameren CILCO Century Club.
Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by his family. He enjoyed classic cars and fishing. He was an avid fan of stock car racing and loved the Peoria Speedway. He was always willing to help anyone in need and he lived his life with integrity.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday August 19, 2010 at Bartonville Christian Church 4900 W. Pfeiffer Road in Bartonville. Rev. Kevin Dell and Rev. Jack Thompson will be officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church and one half hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Burial with military rites will be in Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton. Davison-Fulton Bartonville chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
