

Andrea Gaye Harris Hairston, a cherished sister, caregiver and friend, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Born to the late John B. Harris, Jr. and Annie Gertrude Harris. Andrea graduated from Fieldale-Collinsville High School and continued her education at Old Dominion University.
Throughout her career, she dedicated herself to service in various roles such as customer service expert at Results and GSI, Quality Control at Bassett Walker and lead cashier at Winn Dixie. As an active and faithful member of Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory, she served on the media team. Andrea lived a life rooted in kindness and encouragement. Her special gift was caring for her mother during her later years. She cherished this role with unwavering love and grace. Andrea found joy in simple pleasures like playing cards, dining out, taking short road trips with her sister, shopping and most of all, lifting others up while helping them recognize their own value.
Andrea was preceded in death by her beloved parents. She is survived by her loving sister, Johnsey Brucene Harris Wimbush, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends who will forever cherish her warmth and spirit.
Services will be conducted at Oak Hill Cathedral of Glory on Monday, December 29, 2025 with a visitation from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM and the funeral immediately following. Andrea’s gentle presence and uplifting heart touched countless lives and she will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions towards the memorial.
