Annie Ruth Lewis Hudson

Annie Ruth Lewis Hudson, age 94, of Collinsville, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012, in Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. Born December 4, 1917, in Vesta, she was a daughter of the late John Robert Lewis and Onie Elizabeth Dalton Lewis. Also preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, Emmitt Edgar Hudson, her son James Dwight Hudson, sisters Irene Bragg, Hallie Woodall and Margery Chaney, and brothers Earley, George, Bergen, Harvie, and Lonnie Lewis.

She retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 25 years of service, and she was a member of Old Dan River Primitive Baptist Church, Vesta, VA, where her funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, November 3, 2012. Elder Tim McGrady will officiate. Interment will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery.

Surviving are her daughters, Sandra Kay Pinkard and her husband, Dr. Charles Dent Pinkard, Sr. of Collinsville, and Bambi Lynne Hudson of Collinsville, two grandchildren, Charles Dent Pinkard, Jr. and Robert Wayne (Rocky) Goodnow, Jr. and his wife Michelle, two great-grandchildren Sophia Grace Goodnow and Jacob Emmitt Goodnow, step-grandchild Tina Flannagan, and step-great-grandchildren Beverly, Crystal, and Sean Flannagan.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett.
