Audrey King Harris

Audrey Faye King Harris was born on December 2, 1940 in Martinsville, VA to the late John Robert King Sr. and Ollie Gilbert King. She left this dispensation of grace on March 5, 2015 to enter into the land where there is no more sickness and pain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Johnsie K. Robinson and brother John R. King Jr.

Faye was educated in the Martinsville School System and graduated from Albert Harris High School in 1959. After 30 years of service she retired from Dupont as a Spinnerette Operator.

Faye was a member of The First United Church of Jesus Christ and served faithfully for 35 years. She was passionate about her service, particularly as President of the Usher Board.

On March 16, 1966 she married the love of her life, Donald W. Harris Sr. and together they reared three wonderful children.

In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle G. Draper of the home; two sons, Anthony C. Harris (Latoya) of Charlotte, NC and D. Wesley Harris Jr. (Monica) of Lewisville, TX; three grandchildren, Myles, Jasmine and Ashley Harris and two great-grandchildren.

Also left to cherish her memory are three sisters; Shirley K. Stockton (Jasper) of Martinsville, VA; Patricia K. Saunders of Long Beach, NY and Magretta K. Taylor of Martinsville, VA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Because thy love and kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
