Bill Jack Whitlow

Bill Jack Whitlow, 69, of 370 Philpott Dam Road in Bassett, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at his residence.

He was born in Henry County on May 26, 1941, to Edgar and Annie Mays Whitlow. He was self-employed as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gladys Ferguson and Ruby McGhee; five brothers, Raymond, Jimmy, Eural, Joe and Charlie Whitlow.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Iris B. Whitlow of the residence; one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Joe and Shannon Whitlow of Clarksville, VA; three grandchildren, Cameron Stone Whitlow, Taylor Jo Whitlow and Nicole Hunter Whitlow; one sister, Annie W. Moore of Brown Summit, NC,; one brother, Maynard Whitlow of Bassett; niece, Jamie Whitlow of Richmond; and special friends, sister-in-law, Margie Harold of Bassett, Liz Kolinski of Critz and Mark Witt of Bassett.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Bassett Chapel with Pastor Greg Hodges, Pastor Mike Varner and Chad Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone, Bassett Chapel and other times at the residence.
