Chrystal Tilley Joyce

Chrystal Tilley Joyce, 93, of the Sanville Community, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Henry County, October 25, 1923 to Jim Lee Tilley and Edna Joyce Tilley. She was owner/operator of Joyce’s Beauty Shop for 25 years and was currently a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bernard E. Joyce; sister, Christine Hundley and son-in-law, Doug Foley. Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Foley-Crawford (Tom) of Collinsville, Patricia J. Adams (Roger) of Bassett; two sons, Bernie Joyce (Linda) and Jimmy Joyce, both of Bassett; grandchildren, Dr. Greg Foley, Tim Foley, Angela Wright, Dwayne Adams, Ashley Joyce-Bagwell, Erin J. Wood, Holly Rode, Wendy J. Jordan and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, William Leroy Tilley of Georgia, sister and brother-in-law, Elsie and Carlton Joyce of Eden, NC; sisters-in-law, Mary Frances Bower and Alma C. Joyce, both of Bassett. The Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett and other times at the residence. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Noon at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Ramsey and the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating. Interment will follow at Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery.
