

He was born in Martinsville, Virginia on August 3, 1943 to late H. L. Prillaman, Sr. and Velma Young Prillaman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, H. L. Prillaman, Jr.
He attended J. D. Bassett High School, served with the 2174th unit of the U. S. Army Reserves from 1964 thru 1971; later worked at Bob White Chevrolet and W & B Chevrolet before becoming a deputy for the Henry County Sheriff Department serving as a correction officer, road officer, road sergeant and retiring in 2006 as sergeant of court security. After retiring and up until his sudden illness he served as a part-time deputy for the Martinsville Sheriff Department and Henry County Sheriff Department.
He was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, sunday school director, a member of the Baptist Men and a member of the adult choir and church security committee.
Left to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn Robertson Prillaman of the home, two daughters, Stephanie P. Cooley and her husband Johnny and Stacie R. Prillaman, two step-grandsons, Justin Cooley and his wife Genevieve and Colby Cooley all of Bassett, one sister, Joylee Nickelston of Roanoke, a number of nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Jeanette Secrest, Iva Arrington, Kitty Lou Robertson and Juanita Prillaman.
The family will receive friends Sunday night, May 3, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Fort Trial Baptist Church and at other times at the home on Reed Creek Drive, Bassett.
The Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at
Fort Trial Baptist Church with Dr. Joey McNeill officiating. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park.
