Born in Franklin County January 3, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Curtis W. Young and Myrtle O. Young. She retired from Bassett Furniture Industries after 30 years of service, and was a member of Providence Baptist Church, Henry.
Surviving are three sisters, Charlotte Holley and Iris Matthews of Collinsville and Connie Philpott of Henry, a brother, Dudley Young of Henry, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at noon on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Collins Funeral Home, Bassett. Interment will follow in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until noon prior to the service and at other times at the home of her sister, Connie Philpott in Henry.
