Faye Lawless Witt, 74, of Bassett, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 at her residence. She was born on September 12, 1944 in Martinsville to Moir G. and Edna Marshall Lawless (both deceased). Mrs. Witt was married to the late Ronald D. Witt. Mrs. Witt is survived by her son David C. Witt and wife Judy Avin Witt of Bassett, granddaughter Samantha Faith Witt, sister Louise Covington, brother Thomas Lawless and his wife Diana Lawless. Preceded in death are her brothers Danny Lawless, Glen Lawless, James Lawless and infant sister Brenda Lawless Mrs. Witt worked at Piedmont Trust Bank, which later became BB&T when she retired more than 33 years later. She was a member of Fuller Memorial Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She served in many capacities there including Clerk, Secretary, Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. She also was a former Committee Chairman of the DDM (Developmental Disabilities Ministries) which supported The Horne Home of the Henry County Baptist Association. The funeral service will be held at Collins Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m.( noon) on Tuesday and will be officiated by Reverend Fred Hardin and Reverend Bonnylee Witt. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, also at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett. Memorials may be made to The Michael J.
