Hattie Gay Morrison Vaughn

Hattie Gay Morrison Vaughn, 89, of Collinsville, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County, August 11, 1924 to Charlie C. Morrison and Iowa Texas Mize Morrison. She was a long-time member of Meadow United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Cornelia (Betty) Vaughn; an infant son, Charles David Vaughn; two brothers, King A. Morrison and Hubert L. Morrison; one infant brother and one infant sister; three half-brothers, Fred, Ophus and David Morrison; five half-sisters, Susie Clark, Bessie Clark, Minnie Belcher, Lou Ella Overton and Rosebud Adams.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Carlene and Clayton Moran of Floyd, Elaine and James Wade of Stuart; four granddaughters, one grandson, three great-granddaughters, four great-grandsons; three great-great-granddaughters and two special friends, H. D. Linkous and Calvin Adams.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett with interment to follow in the Morrison Family Cemetery in Patrick County.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home.
