Larry Stanley Patterson, Sr., 72, of Fieldale, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville. He was born in Fieldale, July 7, 1941 to Jesse Ben and Belva Stanley Patterson, both deceased. He was a graduate of Fieldale High School and Ferrum College and retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 40 years of service. Larry was a member of Fieldale Baptist Church and the DOW Sunday School Class, Fieldale Lions Club and Lynwood Golf and Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Cassady Patterson of the residence; one daughter, Stacy P. Moran and husband, Timothy of Collinsville; two sons, Stan Patterson and wife, Darlene of Murrells Inlet, SC; Scott Patterson and wife, Tonia of Ridgeway; six grandchildren, Hannah Eryn Patterson, Rachel Elizabeth Patterson, Christian Stanley Patterson, Matthew Stanley Moran, Patrick Keith Moran and Michael James Moran. Pallbearers are: Mark Brummitt, David Rorrer, Wally Thompson, Mike Blackburn, Bill Hutchinson, Harold Franklin, Bob Gray and Wade Nelson.
