Nancy Harmon Rickman

Nancy Jeannette Harmon Rickman, 77, of Martinsville, died Thursday, January 8, 2015. She was born in Henry County, VA on April 29, 1937 to Raymond G. Harmon and Nellie G. Shively Harmon. She was previously employed at DuPont and was a member of Hill Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. “Rick” Rickman, her sister, Goldie Reichert, and her brothers, James E. Harmon and Clyde E. Harmon.

Surviving are her daughters Susan Deborah Chitwood of Martinsville, Sonja R. Stanley and husband, Kenny of Greensboro, NC, Michelle R. Compton and husband, Aubrey of Ridgeway, two grandchildren, Caleb and Ian Compton and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Collins Funeral Home Bassett Chapel from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and at other times at the home of her daughter, Michelle R. Compton.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Collins Funeral Home Bassett Chapel with Rev. J. D. Harmon and Rev. Bill Moss officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
