Raymond Cecil Collins Jr.

He was born September 1, 1979 in Martinsville to Raymond Cecil Collins, Sr. and Regina Watkins “Jeannie Barrett” Collins.

Mr. Collins was a member of The Church at Mercy Crossing. He had worked several truck driving jobs. Ray Jr. was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved everything outdoors. In nature, he felt most comfortable and the closest to God.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Savannah Barefoot Collins of Eden, North Carolina; daughter, Jovee Rae Ann Collins of Eden, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Tonya W. Hall and Wes R. Hall, Sr. of Martinsville; nephew, Wes R. Hall, Jr. of Martinsville; maternal grandmother, Mavis Tilley Barrett of Martinsville; paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Collins Kennedy of West Virginia; aunts, Sharon Vernon and Rick of Richmond, Virginia, Anita Lawrence Lester and Ken of Spencer, Virginia, Sidney Allen Collins and Marie of Fieldale, Ferry Zane Collins of West Virginia, Cecilia Collins Kennedy and Anderson of West Virginia, Janie Parish and Ron of Norfolk, Virginia and Alice Valude and Mary Quinn of Dayton, Ohio ; uncles, Ronald Lane Barrett and Cynthia of Smith Mountain Lake and Robert Eugene Barrett, Jr. of Martinsville.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. until 1:30 P.M. prior to the service on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett and other times at the home.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Collins-McKee Stone Funeral, Bassett with Dr. Jackie Poe and Reverend Jimmy Woods officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
