Thelma Louise Woods

Born in Bassett, November 14, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert Ray Cassady and Annie Holt Cassady. Also preceding her in death was her son, Ronald Ray Statzer, and a brother, James W. Cassady.

Thelma was a member of First Baptist Church of Bassett.

Surviving are her husband, Harry G. (Bill) Woods, daughter, Bonnie Louise Bass and her husband John, of Fairmont, NC, step-daughters, Janice Hill and Joan Barbour, both of Bassett, sisters, Dorothy Rigby and Lois Turner and her husband Herbert, all of Bassett, brothers, Gilbert Ray Cassady Jr. and his wife Delsie, and Bobby P. Cassady and his wife Tina, all of Bassett, four grandchildren, Tammie Moody, Gregory Huddle, Tripp Sellers, Sarah Statzer, and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jordan and Jason Moody.

The funeral service will be held at noon on Monday, October 3, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Bassett with the Rev. Dr. Lew Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 6 to 8 P.M. at Collins Funeral Home in Bassett.
