Virginia I. Ingram

Virginia Irene Ingram, 87, of Bassett went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. She was born June 29, 1931 to the late George Murray Carter and Flora Blanche Carter. In addition to her parents she was proceeded in death by her husband, Monroe Birch Ingram and son, Robert Douglas (Doug) Ingram; brothers, Robert, Lem, Grady and Elbert Carter; and sisters, Ada Spencer, Marylou Esther Carter and Lillie Ann Carter. Irene was a faithful member of Free Worship Baptist Church in Stanleytown for many years. She loved her family and was especially proud of all her grandchildren and great-granddaughters. She enjoyed sitting on her porch in the spring and summer, enjoying her beautiful flowers. She always loved sunflowers. Irene is survived by a son, Wilbert Ingram; three daughters, Ethel McGhee (Ronnie), Judy Reed (Bennett), Nancy Gilley (Mike); two granddaughters, Jenny and Lisa; four grandsons, Ron, Travis, Justin and Brad; two great-granddaughters, Emily and Anna; and two brothers, Frank and Claude Carter. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Friday, February 8, 2019 at Free Worship Baptist Church, Stanleytown. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastors Leonard Hall and Billy Smith. Interment will follow at the Ingram Family Cemetery on Fairmont Drive in Bassett.
