Daphne Elizabeth Little

Services will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop, Texas. The visitation will be held from 11:00am to 1:00pm also on Wednesday. Interment will follow at Hugh Wilson Cemetery, Lexington, Texas.

Daphne was born January 27, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Ruben Lloyd Pollan and Billie Ruth Slayton. Daphne had two children, Lisa Shumake and Scott Shebel.

Daphne married J.C. Little June 30, 1979 in Rosanky, Texas. Daphne lived in Rosanky for 30 years. When J.C. passed away in 2010, Daphne moved to Georgia to be closer to her son Scott, where she made many friends. After 4 years she returned home to Texas to be with her daughter Lisa, her best friend and sister Linda. Daphne was a member of the Rosanky Baptist Church where she enjoyed Bible Studies. Daphne liked to do ceramics and gardening. She loved and was always with her best friend and beloved dog, Nathan Alexander Little, III.

Survived by: companion, Nathan Alexander, III; daughter, Lisa Shumake and husband Jimmy of Bastrop, Texas; son, Scott Shebel and wife Mikie of Bainbridge, Georgia; sister, Linda Denning and husband Ted of Huntsville, Texas; grandsons, Clint and Michael Shumake and Jon Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews; and longtime friend and caregiver, Brenda Wanek.
