
A retired professional engineer with Kaiser Aluminum and Dyer- Moody Consulting Engineers, died at home in Baton Rouge on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011, at 11 p.m. He was 83 and a native of Abbeville. Albert proudly served his country during World War II in the Marine Corps, Louisiana Air National Guard and Louisiana Army National Guard. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Wednesday, Oct. 5, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Thursday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. to 12:40 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Tom Ranzino, celebrant. Burial with military honors at Greenoaks Memorial Park. He is survived by two daughters, Betty Wright and husband Eddie, and Gayle LeBlanc, all of Baton Rouge; two sons, James LeBlanc and wife Tonya, and Scott LeBlanc and wife Shaun, all of Baton Rouge; three sisters, Gladys Fleming, of Lafayette, Elaine Haynes, of Port Arthur, Texas, and Elco Young, of Alexandria; a brother, Gene LeBlanc, of Sun City, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Maudrey LeBlanc; parents, Albert and Elva LeBlanc; sister, Opal Pickett; and brother, Roland LeBlanc. Pallbearers will be Chris Wright, Stan Ellis, Raymond Smith, Frank Williams, Mason Columbia and Brandin Bencaz. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Wright IV, James LeBlanc II and Brayden LeBlanc. Albert was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Special thanks to all of his caregivers, especially Gayle LeBlanc, Jessica Murphy, Raymond Smith, Keila Ellis, Latoya Sampson, Brenda Lamb, Vicki Bergquist and Dr. Vincent Tuminello.
