
A native of Washington, LA, long-time resident of Baton Rouge, and current resident of Birmingham, AL, he passed away from this life on Easter Sunday, the age of 89. He was the owner and proprietor of Baton Rouge Electric Motor Service for twenty-five years, a faithful member of The First United Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge for thirty years, and the New Life Church of Birmingham, AL for the past seven years. He is well loved by his children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Yoes Stephens; parents, Alfred Stephens, Sr.&Evelina Dupre Stephens; brothers, Howard Stephens, Russell Stephens, Harris Stephens, Raphael Stephens, George Soileau,&Levi Soileau; and sisters, Eloise Stephens, Elaine Soileau Accosta,&Leola Soileau Johnson. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Johnson Sutton of Fort Collins, CO and Donna Johnson Sutton (husband Barry) of Birmingham, AL; sister Una Sacco; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East (11000 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, LA 70815) from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at The First Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge (2828 Jones Creek Road, Baton Rouge, LA 70816) at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Devall Family Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Alfred's name may be made to the Guatemala Children's Fund in care of New Life Church (7471 Old Mill Branch, Pinson, AL 35126).
