A retired owner of College Town Grocery, he died at 5 a.m.Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 81, a native of Lake Charlesand a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday was from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m.Visitation resumes at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m.until religious service in the chapel at 10 a.m., conducted by Deacon Frank Bains. Interment inResthavenGardensof Memory. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lockie Fortenberry Nicholas of Baton Rouge; sister, Mary N. D'Antoni of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Marguerite Greco Nicholas; three sisters, Jennie Passaro, Rosie Montalbano and Annie Comeaux; and four brothers, Phillip, Anthony "Tony," Joseph and Albert Nicholas. Pallbearers will be his nephews.
