

Anna Mae Zito Misuraca (Nanna) passed away at her home on Wednesday, April 2, 2014. She was 76, a native of Lobdell and a resident of Baton Rouge. Anna is survived by her husband of 55 years, Vincent J. Misuraca, Sr.; a son and his wife, V.J. and Tami Misuraca; a daughter and her husband, Vickie and Floyd Braud; three granddaughters, Ashley Braud and her fiancé Matthew Briggs, Kristie Braud and Paige Misuraca; a grandson, Vincent J. Misuraca, III (“Trey”); sisters, Mary Fontana, Lucy Baudry, and Josie (“Dusty”) Messina; a brother, Henry Zito. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Anthony Misuraca; father, Joe Zito; mother, Annie Mancuso Zito; a sister, Rosie Zito and a brother, Joseph J. Zito. Nanna was deeply rooted in her faith and family and was proud of her Italian heritage. She most enjoyed traveling to Italy, cooking for her family and giving to others. She gave endlessly of her time and of herself especially to her children and grandchildren. She will be sorely missed, but her love will live on in her family forever. Anna Mae was a 1956, graduate of Redemptorist High School, and she was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was active in the American Legion Auxillary Unit 38. Anna worked for Prudential Insurance and later retired from Jefferson Pilot Insurance. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. on Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:30PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, April 4, 2014 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Road from 10:00 to 11:00AM with a mass of Christian burial beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will be at Greenoaks Memorial Park immediately following mass. Pallbearers are Trey Misuraca, Randy Messina, Joe Zito, Mike Misuraca, II, Marc Misuraca, and Chad Misuraca. Honorary pallbearers are: Gerald Bower and Leon DiBenedetto. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Zuckerman, Dr. Barber and their staffs, Hospice in His Care and Mrs. Gloria Parker for their compassionate care.
