Anneliese Heimbach Fritts died on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at the age of 94. Anneliese was born in Gera, Germany and raised in Bamberg, Germany where she met her future husband, Ernest Fritts, a U.S. Serviceman stationed in Bamberg. A special mosaic portrait of John F. Kennedy titled “Prayer for Peace” was placed in the conference room of the John F. Kennedy University of Berlin. Other works by Anneliese are held in public and private collections throughout the world. She is survived by her son, retired U.S. Army Col. Herbert P. Fritts and his wife, Diane, Baton Rouge; and her grandson, U.S. Army LTC Daniel H. Fritts and his wife, Shannon, Mandeville; her great grandsons, Dylan S. Fritts, Matthew D. Fritts, and Connor B. Fritts. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and her grandson, Douglas Scott Fritts. The Fritts family would like to thank Hospice of Baton Rouge for their dedication, compassion and kindness along with Southside Gardens Assisted Living for their loving care. Visiting to be held at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3625 Hwy 75, St. Gabriel, on Friday, June 14, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. with a celebratory mass at 6:30 p.m. by Father Charles R. Landry. A reception will follow in the church reception hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge in her name.
