Annell Tinsley Oatley, 75, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away at her home on August 2, 2023. She was born on October 2, 1947, to Gaynell and Ann Tinsley in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from University High School in 1965, after which she earned both a bachelor's degree in English and Math Education and a master's degree in School Counseling at Louisiana State University. After years of teaching, she found her "forever career" as a guidance counselor in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. Annell was a loving and devoted mom and Nanan to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, singing and playing the guitar, and was possibly the biggest LSU fan ever. She was kind, generous, and compassionate to everyone she met, and the world will not be the same without her. Annell was preceded in death by her parents, Gaynell and Ann Tinsley. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Oatley Thibodaux and husband Paul Thibodaux; daughter Shannon Oatley; brother Gaynell Tinsley, Jr. and wife Dany Tinsley; grandchildren, Alexandra Thibodaux, Chase Thibodaux, Nicholas Moore, and Tinsley Moore; nephew Steele Tinsley; and many treasured family members. The memorial service will be Saturday, August 12, at 10:00 a.m. at University United Methodist Church, 3350 Dalrymple Dr., BR, LA, followed by the graveside service at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., BR, LA.
