

Annie Wall Bowman passed away on September 1, 2013 at her daughter's residence in New Orleans. Mrs. Bowman was born on October 30, 1923 in New Iberia, LA. Mrs. Bowman is preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Bowman; her parents, Rivers P. Wall and Margaret G. Wall and her brother, Rivers P. Wall, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Bowman Borchardt; son-in-law, Jeffery C. Borchardt; granddaughters, Ann Elise, Camille, Adrienne and Eugenie Borchardt; brother, Dr. David W. Wall and sister-in-law, Dickens H. Wall. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She attended Brenau University and graduated from LSU in 1944 with a BS in Education. She served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an anti-aircraft gunnery instructor. She was previously employed by Exxon. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, Baton Rouge Woman's Club, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital Auxiliary, Our Lady of Mercy Altar Society, Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, Magna Charta Dames, Baton Rouge Genealogical Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, West Feliciana Historical Society, LSU Union, and Passe Bon Temps. She was kind and generous, patient and gentle, always had a smile on her face, loved to laugh and her door was always open for company. Mrs. Bowman cherished family and friends alike and above all, loved her granddaughters. Donations in lieu of flowers: St. Joseph Hospice Foundation or the Simeon and Appoline Patout Foundation Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Avenue, Baton Rouge at 10:30 AM. Father Cleo Milano will officiate. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street after 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm and at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Friday, September 6, 2013 after 9:30 am until service time. Interment to follow in Roselawn Memorial Park under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home.
