Anthony Joseph “Peck” Pecoraro, 86, was born December 2, 1938 in Baton Rouge, LA and passed away from Alzheimer’s disease on November 24, 2025 surrounded by his wife, Amelia and family. Anthony was a 1957 graduate of Catholic High School, where he excelled in football. Upon graduation he was honored to serve his country in the Air Force from 1957-1961. It was there that he mastered his love of carpentry. He met the love of his life Amelia in 1962 and they were married June 15, 1963. Anthony was a proud member of St. Alphonsus Church and founding member of St. Louis King of France Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and Carpenters Local Union 1098. Anthony was a devout Catholic and devoted husband and father.
He retired from DSM Copolymer in 2000 after a long and fulfilling career as a carpenter. He is survived by his loyal and devoted wife, Amelia (Parr) Pecoraro, his son Wayne Anthony Pecoraro (Tena), daughters Annette Pecoraro Chauvin (David), Barbara Pecoraro Lively and Vicki Pecoraro Sunseri (Chris). He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren: Justin Chauvin, Brittany Lively Davis (Jeremiah), Chase Broussard, Lauren Langlois (Matthew), Christian Pecoraro (Shelby), Jeremy Lively, Hayden Chauvin, Cameron Pecoraro, Taylor Farajallah (Alex) and Brooke Occhipinti (Brad), and his great grandchildren Stephen Langlois, Skylar and Scarlett Occhipinti and Leo Farajallah. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents Pauline Maggio Pecoraro, Joseph Alphonse Pecoraro and his beloved sister, JoLouise Pecoraro.
Anthony was a gifted carpenter. One of his greatest joys was the beautiful gazebo he crafted, a place that reflected both his skill and his gentle spirit. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, dancing and watching LSU and Saints football. He loved gardening and sharing his crops with family and friends. He took pride in his Sicilian heritage and being an F.B.I. (Full Blooded Italian). One of his biggest achievements is living to be the oldest living Pecoraro in his family. He will be remembered as an honest, humble man, with a gentle soul.
Anthony loved cooking Italian meals and making his famous banana nut bread and banana pudding for his family and friends. One of the traditions dearest to his heart was making Italian cookies each year, a ritual passed down from his mother.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 9:45 am to 11:00 am at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church located at 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd., Greenwell Springs, LA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at the same location.
