She was a retired high school administrator, a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a resident of Baton Rouge. Barbara died at 11:32 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 81. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the Memorial Service in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Gerard "Jerry" Martin. Barbara is survived by her daughters: Lynn Chaptovy and Leslie Harden; her sons: Dr. Lemuel J. Clanton, Jr. and Dr. Mark Clanton; her sister: Betty Brown, Ph.D.; her brother: Talmadge Guy, Ed.D.; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse: Dr. Lemuel J. Clanton; her daughter: Justine Gueno; her brother: Daniel Guy; and her parents: Talmadge, Sr.&Alberta Carter Guy. Barbara graduated from Fisk University in Nashville; earned her Masters degree in Education Administration from Tulane University; and she was a member of The Links, Inc., Circle-Lets, Smart Set, Girl Friends, Inc., Carrousels, Jack&Jill, Inc., Tufts, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
