

A resident of Gonzales and a native of Baton Rouge, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her children, at the age of 78. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Baker, where she enjoyed cooking lunches for Wednesday midday service. Her family meant everything to her, and she is survived by her three daughters: Lynn Walton and her husband Mike, Wanda Roussell and her husband Bob Callegari, and Kathy Farris; four grandchildren: Shana Daigrepont and husband Matthew, Justin Walton, Kristy Blanchard and husband Rhett, and Maci Walton; nine great-grandchildren: Mason, Stone, Slayden, Christian, Sawyer, Saxton, Taylor, Ian, Isabella "Izzy"; and one great-great-grandson, Branson. She is also survived by her brother Winton Turner and his wife Beverly and her sister Muriel Cox, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Godfrey and Lois Turner; her husband, Charlie O. Farris, Jr.; and her grandson, Charlie Roussell. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church in Baker, 1255 Camelia Ave., on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 9am until funeral service at 11am, conducted by Rev. Gene Rives. Interment will follow at Redwood Baptist Church Cemetery in Slaughter. Special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Hospice, especially her caregiver, Linda.
