Barbara Dee Jacobs was born on March 2, 1935, in Indianapolis to Aaron and Betty Dee. She attended Shortridge High School, then attended Newcomb College in New Orleans majoring in music. It was there she met Roger Jacobs, and they were married April 5, 1955. They were married 51 years until his passing in 2006. She was very active in the community doing countless hours volunteering at the Goodwood Museum, The King Tut Exhibition in New Orleans, and assisting with the Pope's visit. She volunteered at the Audobon Zoo, with the zoo mobile where she would provide animal education to residents of nursing homes as well as many school children. She was very active with WYES tv auction, including being co-chair of the auction with Ann Conroy. She even picked up the hobby of blowing glass. Her love of music started when she was 5 years old and she continued playing piano until a few months ago. After Hurrican Katrina, Roger and Barbara relocated to Baton Rouge. It was there she was in the company of a friend Jack Kahn from 2007 until his passing in 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Bach Jacobs, and son Danny Jacobs. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Ann Jacobs, (New Orleans) and son, Kenneth Jacobs and his wife Sharon Jacobs, one grandchild Robert (Tallahassee, FL). From Jack's family, Jeff and Dana Kahn, their children Jack, Lauren and Rachel. Brad Kahn and Tiffaney, his children Nate and Mason.
