Barbara Hymel Ruddick

Barbara Hymel Ruddick, age 73, passed away on November 24, 2021. Barbara spent her career with Hancock Bank as a mortgage banker. Her biggest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to spend time with family and friends, and traveling.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Durward “Buddy” Ruddick; her children, Wendy Bankston (Shelby), Brad Ruddick (Dondi Spayde), and Traci Brignac (Dean); 7 grandchildren, Colby Bankston (Melanie), Caden Spayde, Braxton Ruddick, Brennon Brignac (Beth), Brittany Devall (Blake), Brooke Lowrenkron (Ben), and Brohn Brignac; 7 great grandchildren, Paisley, Ryker, Ridley, Bristol, Baker, Harper, and Jeb; two siblings, Calvin Hymel (Brenda) and Connie Little (Gerald); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter Hymel, Sr. and Bobbie Jean Harris Hymel Jenkins; and her brother, Walter Hymel, Jr.

A visitation for Barbara will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament, 15615 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM. Barbara will be laid to rest in St. George Catholic Cemetery, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
