
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with Rev. Cleo Milano officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Rabenhorst Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, La 70802. Visitation resumes at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Belle M. Bailey, 59, of Alexandria passed away Friday, March 28, 2013 at her residence surrounded by loved ones. Belle was born and raised in Holland, MI, lived in Grand Rapids, MI, Baton Rouge and Alexandria, LA. Belle had an extensive work history that included: Risk Manager at Huey P. Long Hospital, Civil Servant at Office of Risk Management, State Library, Baton Rouge Parish Library, Teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish, Baton Rouge, H.J. Heinz Pickle Factory in Holland, MI, Sam Carini's Blueberry Farm in Overisel, MI. Belle attended St. Rita Catholic Church in Alexandria, La; Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge where she was confirmed and had her first communion, Christ the King Chapel, LSU campus, Baton Rouge and Third Reformed Church in Holland, MI were she was baptized. Belle was a part of many associations that included LA. Healthcare Risk Managers (LASHRM) Board, LA Public Risk Managers, (PRIMA), LA Hospital Association (LHA), American Lawyers Auxiliary board member, Law League of Louisiana President, Nation Education Association member. Belle is preceded in death by her father, Raymond Vern Bush; Paternal Grandparents: Grandfather, Vern Bush; Grandmother, Thelma Ransom, Great Grandmother, Grace Edwards; half uncle, Richard Ransom, Jr.; Grandmother, Priscilla Boeve Bontekoe and Grandfather, George Bontekoe. Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Joseph John Bailey; daughter, Jennifer Bailey Watson and her husband, Glen E. Watson, II; mother, Myra Belle Bontekoe Bush; sister, Sue Eileen Bush; 4 brothers, Tedd Douglas Bush, James (Jim) Michael Bush, Max Raymond Bush and Charles Thurston Bush;3 nephews, Jamie Bush, Michael Bailey and Scott Bailey; 1 niece, Stacey Kuipers; grand nieces and nephews, Christian, Hailey, Tanner, Realin, Alex and Riley Bush. Pallbearers honored to serve will be Michael Bailey, Scott Bailey, Adam Chenevert, Jason Tabor, John Homes and Ricky Sooter.
