

A retired electrician with Ethyl Corp., Bernard passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. He was 90 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, attached to the U.S. Marine Corps with the rank of corpsman. Visitation at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Monday, Oct. 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service at noon, conducted by Brother Dennis Terry. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Bernard is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Addie M. Sanchez; three daughters, Jeanette Launey and husband Rodger, Cheryl Krieg and husband Steve, and Debbie Sanchez; sister, Helen Ballard; six grandchildren, Donna Bossier, Karen Ma, Jenny and Jason Teed, Christopher LeBlanc and Brian Crochet; eight great-grandchildren, Kari Brady, Justin and Matthew Whitworth, Morgan and Macane Bossier, Jacob and Matthew Teed and Shelby LeBlanc; and two great-great-grandchildren, Brayden Pellerin and Kaylie Whitworth. Preceded in death by his father, Bernard J. Sanchez Sr.; stepmother, Bertile Sanchez; and mother, Eula M. Doughty Sanchez. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, great-grandsons and sons-in-law. He was a member of the Board Road Hunting Club. Special thanks to our neighbors, family, friends and two wonderful sitters.
