

Bessie R. Usey, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Gonzales, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the age of 94. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother that will be missed dearly by all that knew her. Bessie is survived by her two sons, Skip Usey and companion Joyce Ramirez, and Glenn Usey; sister, Rosalie “Sis” Jones; brother, Nelson “Ninny” Roth Sr.; five grandchildren, Chad Usey, Lisa Usey Lapeyrouse, Amanda Usey Streeter, Chase Usey, and Brandon Higgins; and seven great grandchildren, Brett Usey, Sage Brumley, Alexa Metternich, Hayden Streeter Adrianna Usey, Julia Usey, and Dylan Lapeyrouse. She is preceded in death by her husband, H.J. Usey Sr.; her parents, Orice and Aliba Roth; sisters, Lillian LeBlanc, Geneva Webb, Winnie Argrave, Agnes Sevier and Maud Boudreaux Webb; and brothers, Acklin Roth, Easton Roth, Pherbert Roth, Alza Roth, Joseph “Sonnie” Roth and Alcide Roth. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 10am until religious service at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
