

Betty Peavy Caston, a resident of Central and a native of Plaquemine, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the age of 79. A charter member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Betty was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed dearly by all that knew her. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Bobby Dale Caston; daughter, Belinda Cavalier (Ted Geiger); son, Russell Cavalier Jr. (Rose); two sisters, Greta Peavy and Barbara Strother (Ronald); four brothers, Willard Peavy (Joyce), Donald Peavy (Darlene), Jerry Peavy (Catherine), and Robert Peavy (Wendy); grandchildren, Anna Washington (Roderick), David Broussard, John, Joey (Jenna), and James Cavalier, and Rosanna Carter (Jonathan);great grandchildren, Kieran and Kyler Washington, Kiara Cavalier, and Hallie, Jaycee and Jonathan Jr. Carter; two sisters-in-law, Doris Peavy and Carolyn Peavy; numerous nieces and nephews; and many family and friends who knew her as Aunt Betty or MawMaw Betty. Betty is preceded in death by her mother, Jane Carroll Peavy; father, James Dewitt Peavy; step mother, Estelle Peavy; daughter, Anna Myrie Cavalier; grandchildren, Candi Lynn Snider and Austen Paul McCreary; sister, Wilma Lee Peavy; brothers, Carroll Dewitt “C.D.” Peavy, Leo Stanley Peavy and Carl Wayne “Ace” Peavy. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 5pm until 9pm and resume on Monday from 9am until service at 12pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: David Broussard, Roderick Washington, John Cavalier, Joey Cavalier, James Cavalier and Jonathan Carter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Immanuel Baptist Church in Betty’s memory.
