

Betty Curry died on July 15, 2015. She was born in Baton Rouge on October 5, 1925. She graduated from Northwestern State College in Natchitoches. She was married over 66 years ago to Ed Curry, who passed away last November. She was survived by three sons: Kenneth Paul Curry of Estes Park, Co married to Wanda C Curry and grandchildren Rebecca L. Curry, of Jackson, MS, and Anna K. Curry attending Colorado State University; Richard Allen Curry of Baton Rouge, married to Mary Hall Nesser and grandchildren Sarah M Curry of Miami, FL, L. Elizabeth Curry of Baton Rouge, and Adam C Curry of Austin, Tx. Also survived by grandchild Rachel C. Cutshaw married to L. Prentiss Cutshaw and great grandchildren William Cutshaw, Curry Cutshaw, and Sarah Beth Cutshaw, all of Dallas, TX. Also survived by step-grandchildren Katherine H Nesser of New Orleans and Joshua M Nesser of Baton Rouge. Robert Ed Curry of Lancaster, CA, married to Bonnie M Curry, and grandchildren Benjamin R Curry of Del Mar, CA, and by Christopher A. Curry married to Heather K Curry and by great grandchildren Jackson Curry and Dustin Curry, all of Hilo, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arch M. and Beulah Hopper, and by four brothers, Joe, Jim, Jack and John and one sister, Garnette. She was survived by a sister in law, Virginia Hopper. Ms. Curry and children accompanied Mr. Curry on a number of overseas assignments, including long term assignments in Holland, England, France, and Italy. She and Mr. Curry also traveled extensively for pleasure. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wedding Ring Sunday School Class. Her volunteer work included serving as a Docent at the Old Governors' Mansion and 20 years at the Patient Information Desk at Baton Rouge General Hospital Mid-City. Visitation will be at First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd, on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 1pm until service at 3pm in the Aldrich Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, La.
