Betty Polk Hood

Betty Polk Hood, 83, a resident of Flannery Oaks Guest House in Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and crafting. She is survived by her daughters: Melonie Polk Langlois and husband Bud, and Cindy Polk Horn and husband David; grandchildren: David Fontenot, Jody Picou and husband Danny, Amy Schexnayder and significant other John Jacobs, Ashley Reeves and significant other Jamie Danks, and DJ Horn and significant other Kaylyn Parr; great grandchildren: Katie and Jamie Scarbrough, Mackenzi Picou, Paige Michel, Victoria and Ethan Schexnayder, Mia and Wyatt Reeves, and Ian and Raeley Horn. She is preceded in death by her first husband James Clyde Polk; second husband Cline Hood; son Jimmy Polk; father John Canady; mother Edolia Canady Faulk and stepfather Eldridge Faulk; sister Delores Christensen; and great granddaughter Olivia Grace Reeves. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 12pm until time of service at 2pm. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
