Betty Langlois, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grand mother went to her heavenly reward May 16, 2012. She gracefully battled cancer and died peacefully at home surrounded by family. A lifelong resident and native of Baton Rouge, Betty graduated from Istrouma High School and married her sweetheart, Al Langlois. Betty was a loving homemaker who took pride in caring for her children, and in later years, her mother Lillian and her father-in-law Ramsey. She enjoyed spending time with friends in her bowling league, her Po-Ke-No group, dance clubs and Istrouma classmates. During their 63 years of marriage, Betty and Al enjoyed life to the fullest. They spent many fun weekends with family at False River and summer vacations at the beach. In 2009, Betty and Al celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on a Cruise surrounded by their children and grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Lillian Noland, brother Dale Noland and son-in-law Danny Brooks. Betty is survived by her brother Dr. Ronald Noland and wife Monetta of Mobile, Alabama. She is also survived by five children and their spouses: Keith and Mary Langlois of Shreveport, Kim Brooks, Kara and Freddie Sumerlin, Kevin Langlois, Kyle Langlois and his fiancee Dawn Bergeron, and special friends Buddy Moore and Carol Beaucoudray, all of Baton Rouge. Betty’s nine grandchildren are Danielle Brooks Coats, Gabe Brooks, Lucas Langlois, Jordy Langlois, Sadie Sumerlin Stewart, Addie Sumerlin, Katie Sumerlin Arbuthnot, Kameron Langlois and Katherine Langlois.
