Betty Ann Melancon Lanoux “Aunt Boo” passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 94. She was a native of the Dutchtown, LA, area and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Betty loved traveling, gardening, dancing, cooking, and feeding everyone. But above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Betty is survived by her daughter, Patti Day (Todd); grandchildren, Dawn Eusay (Jesse), Kristi Herring Ordeneaux (Ryan), Kayla Day, and Paige Day; great-grandchildren, Summer, Wyatt, and Brody Eusay, and Paisley Ordeneaux; son-in-law, Bruce Herring; and a host of other loving family members. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Calieon Joseph Lanoux; daughter, Sandra Lanoux Herring; parents, Estress and Julie Melancon; and sisters, Marie “Pie” Curry, Grace Turcotte, and Gloria Jean Garside. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 9am until the time of funeral services at 12pm.
