

"Betty Sue Richardson passed away on Wednesday, June 21st at the age of 86. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and dear friend to so many. She graduated from Dufrocq Elementary, Baton Rouge High, and attended Louisiana State University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. Betty Sue was married to Parry (Boney) Richardson for 64 years and had three children, Kathy (Jim) Nikolaus, Bo (Vicki) Richardson and Sue (CC) Lockwood. Her grandchildren were John Nikolaus (Kristy), Emily Nikolaus (Amy), Lee Aucoin, Adam Aucoin (Cassy), Jennifer, Amy, Katie, and Bo Jr. Richardson. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Taylor, William, and Charlie Nikolaus. Betty is survived by a brother, brother in law Charles H. Richardson, a sister in law Marjorie H. Montgomery, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Bernice Cooter and a sister Carol Jumper. Betty enjoyed participating in the Volunteers of America Auxiliary. She loved antiquing, decorating, and was co-owner of The Hope Chest, an antique store in Baton Rouge. She and her husband started Southern Livestock Supply Co. in 1969, a business that carries on today. The family sends special thanks to all of Betty's caregivers, especially The Hospice of Baton Rouge staff and the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Hospice of Baton Rouge, 3600 Florida Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 70806. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, from 9:00 to 10:00 am Saturday, June 24th with a religious service at 10:00am.
