

Billie “Bill” Delaney, 83, a native of Simms, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA passed away on Thursday June 3, 2010. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Bill served in WWII with the U.S. Navy and worked as an area superintendent for Grinnell Fire Protection. He was the typical Louisiana Sportsman as an avid hunter and fisherman. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Saturday June 5, 2010 from 8AM until time of services at 10AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Darwin Hall will be presiding over the services. Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years Catherine Elizabeth Stewart Delaney; daughter: Debra Delaney Dixon and husband Charles “Chuck”, and Donna Delaney Bourgoyne and husband Sibby; grandchildren: Diana Dixon Garrett and husband Gabe, Victoria Dixon; step grandchildren: Brad and Mollie Bourgoyne; brother J.W. “Jim” Delaney; brother-in-law David Lee Fletcher; and sister-in-law Velma Delaney. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William & Bertie Delaney, 2 sisters: Maudie Lee Corley and Geneva Fletcher; and brother Bob Delaney. Pallbearers will be Gabe Garrett, Michael Winter, Johnny Howard, and Brad Bourgoyne. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cunard, B.J. Cashio, and Melrose Batson. Bill was a member of Oakcrest Baptist Church.
