Bobby Lee Forrest, respected attorney and businessman, adored family man and cherished friend, has left this world to be with the Lord and Loved Ones who have gone before him. He was born on July 28,1932 in Kansas City, Mo. Soon, his family would settle in the north Louisiana town of Pineville where Bobby enjoyed the blessings of a large family and learned the value of hard work in his family’s saw mill. In school, his wit and charm assured him the position of class favorite, cheerleader and basketball star. After serving his country in the US Army, Bobby’s pursuit of a law degree brought him to Baton Rouge. There, he met and married Hilda Ashford who would be his faithful wife for 50 years. Becoming an attorney at law, he enjoyed a legal career that spanned five decades while he embarked on many business ventures with family and associates who would become lifelong friends. Bobby loved to travel, to play guitar and sing, and he loved golf. Bobby and Hilda travelled the globe with friends to see the wonders of the world. It didn’t hurt if there was a golf course nearby. His perfect day included a full 18 holes with friends. He spent countless days on the golf course up until the time he became wheelchair bound. His talent and love for music was never diminished, as on any given Friday night, friends could expect to see Bobby roll up to the Mic and belt out his rendition of “Jambalaya” or softly sing “Oh Danny Boy” or “Suppertime”. His love for animals began when a long lanky stray who would earn the name of Master Flop came into his life. From that moment, Bobby has always had at least one ‘best friend” in his home and has recently fallen in love with a few felines as well. Proud to be a member of the Masonic Brotherhood, Bobby had garnered a perpetual membership in the Trinity Union Lodge No. 372. His pursuit of spiritual fulfillment regularly carried him across the river to worship with his dear friend Jim Sawyer at West Baton Rouge Presbyterian Church. A true example of A Life Well Lived, Bobby will be missed by many. On Sunday July 9, 2017 Bobby passed peacefully in his sleep to be reunited with his mother: Hattie Luker Forrest, father: William Oscar Forrest, wife: Hilda Ashford Forrest, sisters: Margaret Fuller and Betty Lavespere, brothers: Raymond, Jimmy, Jerry and Bill Forrest, nephews: Raymond Jr. and WilliamEdwin Forrest, nieces: Cindy Cook and Cynthia Lynn Forrest (wife of Gary Forrest) along with a great host of loving in-laws, family and friends.
