Branson Michael Hassell

Branson Michael Hassell, 22, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, LA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 20, 2014. A light-hearted, smart and witty young man, Branson was a joyful son, brother and cousin. A graduate of Broadmoor High School and a student at LSU, Branson was known for being a competitive baseball player giving a 150 percent on the field and in life. He is survived by his parents Darryl and Penny Hassell; brother Andrew C. Hassell; aunts and uncles: Harlan and Vicki Severson, Ken and Nancy Moore, and David and Judy Langston; and cousins: Craig Stewart, Jeff Pelton, Christy Wright, Jacob Langston, Jade Langston and Hannah Pierce. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Therrell and Kathryn Hassell; maternal grandparents E.C. and Laura Lambert; and uncle Danny Lambert. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 5pm until 9pm and continuing on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Indian Mound Baptist Church from 9am until service time at 10am. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Branson’s honor to the Louisiana Teen Challenge (www.louisianateenchallenge.com).
