Bruce Joseph Hernandez, a native of St. Gabriel and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 21, 2025, at the age of 75. He was a graduate of Delgado Community College, was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and was also a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard. He was retired from both the Louisiana Department of Corrections and Coca Cola Bottling Company. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Robin Porta Hernandez of Baton Rouge; two daughters and sons-in-law: Annie Rosson and Daniel Rosson of Baton Rouge, and Emily Stearns and Wesley Stearns of Port Allen; two grandsons: Joseph and Jacob Stearns of Port Allen; his brother, Gerald Hernandez; and his sister, Robbie Saia, both of St. Gabriel. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 9am until funeral service at 11am, conducted by Dr. David Goza. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to either Parkinson’s Foundation or to Jefferson Baptist Church “Faith Forward Fund”.
