Carlos "Charles" J. Montoto passed away peacefully in his sleep, at his home, on Sunday morning, October 12, 2014. He was born in Havana, Cuba on July 22, 1939. As a young man, he immigrated to the United States in 1961 where he continued his education and graduated from LSU with a BA in Architecture. He retired from BASF Corporation, Geismar, La in 2000. Charles was known for his wonderful sense of humor. He loved life and his family above all else. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Carlos M Montoto and Maria Isabel Serrano Montoto, his brother, George L Montoto, and his sister, Hortensia Groene. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Norma "Trich" Montoto; son, Stephen Montoto and wife Paricia; daughter, Michelle Montoto Anderson and husband Michael; grandchildren, Elaina, Taylor, Peyton and Grace. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5p.m. until Memorial service at 7:30p.m. In lieu of flowers you may send a donation to St. Joseph Hospice, 10615 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge LA
