Carolyn was a 1958 graduate of Crowley High School and a 1959 graduate of Spencer Business College. She was a native of Egan, Louisiana, and grew up in Crowley. Carolyn was very active in her Crowley community, where she was involved in both her church and civic life, while raising their 4 children. In her later years Carolyn moved to Baton Rouge, where she worked and subsequently retired from the LSU AgCenter system. Carolyn was also a very active member of her Crowley High School class reunion group throughout her life, always enjoying her time catching up with classmates each year. Carolyn was always surrounded by family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, enjoying her retirement with lots of field trips, family dinners, and time with friends.
Carolyn is survived by 2 daughters, Shannon H. Guglielmo and her husband John of Baton Rouge; Blanche H. Ford and her husband John Daniel of Baton Rouge; 2 sons, Jeremy L. Habetz and his wife Jamie of Egan; and Heath L. Habetz of Crowley. One sister, Patty S. Leonards and her husband Louis of Shreveport. 8 grandchildren, John Ross Guglielmo and his wife Ashlyn; Alwyn Guglielmo Fernandez; Macie Ann Habetz; Haiden Reed; Dylan Reed; Treston Credeur and his wife Gabby; Logan Credeur; and Elizabeth Habetz. 8 great grandchildren, Harper Guglielmo; Emilio Fernandez; John Gabriel Fernandez; Julio Fernandez; Finn Credeur; Kohen Credeur; Rhyder Martin, and Tucker Breaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Alphonse Habetz, Jr; and her parents, Claud D. Spell and Eola T. Spell.
The family requests visitation on June 4, 2025, at 9am, followed by 10am Burial Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Baton Rouge. Internment services to be held at a later date at St Leo’s Catholic Church, Robert’s Cove, La.
